‘Greaves and Royal House jointly win the Inter House Volleyball Tournament while Inter House Football Tournament is won by Royal House, for the academic year 2018-19.’
The Vengaboys were dominating on Sunday 2nd December, 2018 at the Barnes School & Junior College FETE. From the welcoming song of Shalala sung by Jianna and Roysten with Zoe as accompanist for the Chief Guest Mr Ajay Kumar the CEO of Cantonment Board Devlali, to Ibiza being played on the music system, the selection of the band was in keeping with the Carnival mood.
In the summer of 1954, Pamela Mounteney (now Shah) came to Barnes School, Devlali for the first time. She passed out in 1961 but just could not leave Barnes. Since early 1970s she has been coming almost every year now for the Reunions.
Our National Anthem, whether sung solo or instrumental, never fails to cause goose bumps to the audience. The effect is hypnotic when it is played at a school Athletics event, backed by a military class students’ March Past accompanied by the bagpipers of the Army Band!
At Barnes School & Junior College, Devlali, we believe in the holistic development of the children. To that end a Quiz Competition was held for the Junior School section on 16th November, 2018. It was a platform for the young students to showcase their knowledge.
In the State Level Football Championship held at Nanded from 10th to 14th November 2018, the Under -14 team of Barnes School & Junior College secured third position overall, beating the Aurangabad team 2-1.
Though Children’s Day is celebrated on 14th November every year here at Barnes, this year it was done with a difference.
