Barnes School & Junior College celebrated its 95th Founder’s Day on 29th January 2020, in the esteemed presence of the President of the Bombay Education Society, Mr. R. K. White and Mrs. Nancy Gonsalves (nee “Solanki”), an alumni of the school from 1975 to 1983, currently, a Real Estate Salesperson in Canada, graced the occasion.
During her address to the gathering, Mrs. Nancy asked the students if they realized how fortunate and blessed they were to be studying in a school that has so much to offer to its students in terms of knowledge, sports, space, and facilities. She was full of praise and appreciation to the school and the staff for inculcating the competitive spirit in its students, which plays an instrumental role in shaping careers.
The School Chaplain, Pastor Anoop Wasker, shouldered the responsibility of offering special prayers for the Principals and Staff who have been responsible for leading the school forward. The school gratefully acknowledged the sacrifices made by the previous officials over the years.
The Principal, Mr. Ainsley Edgar, in his emotional speech, thanked the President of the Bombay Education Society, Mr. R. K. White, for offering him the opportunity to lead a heritage school of the stature and repute of Barnes. He also expressed genuine gratitude to parents for admitting their children and trusting the school management with the life and the future of their loved ones.
As a mark of tribute to the Founding Fathers for their selfless service to humanity,
representatives of Janakalyan Blood Bank, Gangapur Road, Nasik, were invited to
Barnes for a Blood Donation Camp on the Founder’s Day, during which several of the school staff and parents stepped forward to contribute towards a noble cause.
The Founder’s Day service concluded with the singing of the school anthem and the cutting of the cake to mark the school’s 95th Anniversary.
