From the College of Arms, London, we have obtained the following complete authentic description:

It is a combination of the crests of Archdeacon Barnes, our founder, on the left side, and that of his wife, who belonged to the Carnac family, on the right. On the left side is the blue shield with the faces of three white leopards and on the right, four quarters alternately white and blue with crossed swords, three, five-pointed stars and a crescent. The swords are in their natural steel colour with the points upward. The stars are blue over the white quarters and white over the blue. Similarly, the crescent is white and blue. The bird is the white falcon with a golden beak and legs. It is standing on a green mount with six alternate twists of white and blue underneath.

The motto Accepto Robore Surgam, in Latin, can be translated, "I shall arise with the strength I have received." This has a three-fold significance. In our school days and after, we rise to even greater heights, fortified with the strength of the body, mind and spirit which we have gained while in a school.

"To facilitate and support learning, in a secure, secular environment, that develops the students’ intellectual, moral and creative capabilities promoting awareness, understanding and tolerance; thereby enabling them to harmoniously resolve the dynamic challenges of a diverse global community."

"We seek to forge a lifelong bond with our students, empowering them to represent our core values of excellence, humility and inclusiveness while constructively contributing to the community as leaders, professionals, artists, academicians, civil servants and achievers in sporting or any other chosen field. "

Barnes is a perfect paradigm of the cultural diversity that India is known for. We are a rare combination of age-old values as well as new trends and our teachers are a perfect blend of the same.

The Residential Staff oversee the students with utmost care and make sure that the students are comfortable and feel safe. No stone is left unturned in their attempt to fill in a parent’s shoes. They are the students’ friends, guides, philosophers, and coaches depending on the situation. Their main objective is to help the students and show them the correct way.
