Air Commodore Shubhradeep Nigam, VSM Graces Independence Day 2026 at Barnes School

The 80th Independence Day at Barnes School & Junior College was a day of pride, patriotism, and performance. On 15th August 2026, the campus came alive as students and staff gathered to honour India’s freedom.

Our esteemed Chief Guest, Air Commodore Shubhradeep Nigam, VSM, accompanied by Mrs Latika Nigam, inaugurated the ceremony with the flag hoisting at 10:15 AM, followed by the National Anthem.

The programme unfolded with:

• A heartfelt prayer by Rev. Anoop Wasker.
• An inspiring message from the Chief Guest.
• A graceful Kathak performance showcasing India’s classical heritage.
• The cheerful voices of Grades 3 and 4 singing “Nanna Munna Rahi”.
• Stirring speeches by the Head Girl and Head Boy.
• A powerful Kathak fusion dance on “Lehra Do”.
• The harmonious voices of the school choir, followed by a lively dance presentation.

The event was not just a celebration but a reminder of the sacrifices that shaped our nation and the responsibility we carry forward.
