Barnes is a second home for its boarding students. After joining a dormitory, the students are encouraged to create their own close-knit community. There are separate buildings which house the Girls and Boys.
The boarding accommodation aims at achieving an effective balance between privacy for the individual and the development of a strong sense of community.
Each boarding house is carefully supervised by an experienced Warden/ House Mistress. They ensure that new students settle in easily.
The Matron is another important member of the Boarding House Community who supports the Boarders throughout their stay at Barnes. She heads the House Keeping team, monitors the health of the students with the help of a team of fully qualified Nurses who reside on campus. There are excellent facilities like two Infirmaries with Residential Nurses and on call Doctors.
Boarders wake up to the chirping of birds and Peacocks sightings on the Lush 265 Acre Barnes Campus situated on a hill. From the Rising Bell at 5.15a.m to Lights Out at 9.30p.m all the Boarders along with their Matrons, Wardens and Mistresses go through the day as one big family. This is the very core of Barnes Boarding- family ambiance.
